Haworthia mutica "Silver Widow"

A astonishingly beautiful plant with a silvery shine and brown lines from the Haworthia mutica 'White Widow' series.

Created by Mr. Gerhard Marx

Haworthia 'Blush'

A complex hydrid with a reddish hue.

Haworthia 'Danusha'

A neat Haworthia with attractive recurved leaves. The new leaves emerge in a pale burnt orange colour, turning pale silvery white afterwards. Haworthia 'Lombard Star' is part of the complex genetic mix.

Haworthia 'Danusha' is listed under the top 100 favourite hybrids by Mr. Gerhard Marx.

Haworthia 'Venus'

According to Mr. Gerhard Marx this hybrid between H 'Lombard Star' and H 'Diana' is a forerunner of the ultimate  Haworthia hybrid. The latter would a compact plant with long, downward curving, and smoorth leaves, that are decorated with attractive patterns.

Haworthia hayashii - Bakenskraal

Similar to Haworthia bayeri with the flowering time in November instead of  September. Only known from a few km south of Oudtshoorn. It may grade into Haworthia truteriorum and H indogoa which are 20 or 30 km south of Oudtshoorn. No related plants have been recorded in between.

Haworthia 'Bronco'

From the collection of Mr. Gerhard Marx
A volunteer seedling that emerged in a pot containing Haworthia enigma. Haworthia maughanii stood nearby so it is assumed that this is a hybrid of H enigma and H maughanii

Haworthia 'Bronze Shield'

Mr Marx created this hybrid by crossing 'Halloween' and 'Boomerang' with his his own creation 'Dolby Dots' to arrive at this noteworthy cultivar. 'Haloween' and 'Boomerang were supplied by Mr. Yu Hanai and Dr. Hayashi respectively.

Haworthia 'Hedgemony'

A brilliant combination of Haworthia 'Sterling Star' and Haworthia bobii.

Haworthia 'Prasine'

A very attractive member of the 'Lombard Star' series by Gerhard Marx. This one is a bit more green than the original 'Lombard Star'.

Haworthia 'Polka Dots'

Related to Haworthia 'Sago Jelly' .

Haworthia 'Lombard Star' - original

Named after George Lombard, this special hybrid by Mr. Gerhard Marx is one of my favourites.

It is listed  in the special edition  of the British journal 'Haworthiad' of autumn 2022, where Mr. Marx gives a comprehensive discussion about the origin of this plant, as well as others, that form part of his 100 favourite hybrids.

Haworthia 'Ukukhanya'

A very attractive cultivar created by Sean Gildenhuys.
