The plants are quite similar to Haworthia asperata from 'Die Krans' near Herbertsdale.
Towerlands is a few kilometres to the west of 'Die Krans' The plants are generally more attractive and darker-leaved then Haworthia asperata. They grow amongst dense fynbos and on north-facing slopes that are not as steep and 'turgida - like' as at 'Die Krans'.

The plants seem to belong to a Haworthia pygmaea -turgida trans group
