Cyphia sylvatica is a twining plant that usually grows with the support of bushes. Initially the leaves are somewhat oblong with serated edges and flat on the ground. The twine develops later and the leaves are then linear.
Bulbs can form off shoots under the ground as they age. The flowering time is in August (southern hemisphere).
