Named after the famous star Betelgeuse in the constellation Orion. A red giant star that is nearing the end of its life. It fluctuates between dim and bright over time. It is bound to explode within the next couple of thousand years into a massive supernova.
This beautiful rough hybrid with a purplish colouration on the outer half of the leaf, and darker areas towards the center, was created by Mr, Gerhard Marx.
